Montana Elk and Mule Deer Hunt 10238
$5,200
This Montana Elk and Mule Deer Hunt spans five weeks during the hunting season, with each offering unique challenges. Early season finds Elk in small groups in timber and large Mule Deer bucks on higher ridges. Mid-season brings colder weather, forcing Elk into meadows, and Mule Deer entering the rut. Late season sees Elk forming larger herds, while Mule Deer are fully engaged in rut. To reach the tent camps, a two-hour horseback ride is required as the area is inaccessible to motorized traffic, providing an immersive hunting experience with horses throughout the hunt.
The Little Belt Mountain Range, located on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountain Front, offers a unique and somewhat isolated hunting environment. The region’s suitability for raising livestock has minimized the influence of wolves on the elk population, leading to a thriving resident elk herd. The Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Department have introduced additional Cow “B” Licenses each year to manage elk numbers, providing more hunting opportunities.
Youth hunters aged 12 to 17 receive a $500 discount, making this hunt an excellent opportunity to develop hunting skills. Additionally, 1×1 hunts are available for an additional $1000, providing personalized attention. With gentle riding horses and mules owned by the outfitter, mouthwatering meals prepared by an experienced cook, and a diverse range of game, this Montana Elk and Mule Deer Hunt promises an unforgettable and rewarding hunting experience.
