Kodiak offers tremendous Sitka Blacktail Deer hunting. This hunt operates from October through the first week of November, when the bucks are begging to rut. It is usually not difficult to find a deer, though to locate a nice one hunters should be prepared for hiking around in the alpine, where big bucks spend most of their time. This Sitka Blacktail hunts is 5 days, which is more than enough to find a good buck. Hunters can will have plenty of opportunity during this time. This is a hunt where you will see many deer, and with a little effort, harvest a nice buck. Hunts are conducted out of the comfortable base camp. We go on day hikes directly from main camp or take one of the boats to any one of the numerous bays in the area and hunt from there for the day, returning to base camp in the evening.
