Colorado Mountain Lion Hunt 10284
$6,500
This southwest Colorado Mountain Lion hunt takes place during the months of December, January, and February. This is a small family run operation that consistently produces quality toms. For optimum success, snow is a key to cutting fresh tracks on the hunt. With that in mind, this outfitter offers two types of hunts. Hunters can either pick their dates in advance, or they can choose to be “on-call”. For the on-call hunter a flexible schedule is needed as the outfitter will call when fresh snow is on the ground or forecasted. This option provides very successful hunting and on call hunters run close to 100% success annually. For the greatest chance on a big mature tom this option is recommended. Overall, they are very confident in their ability to produce an opportunity for the hunter. In fact, if the outfitter fails to tree a legal lion, hunters are welcome to return for a half price hunt. If they fail to tree a legal lion again on the return hunt, the hunter is welcomed back at no charge. Licenses are not included in return hunts. The average cat taken here weighs in at close to 140 lbs. The average skulls measure 14 4/8 – 15 3/16. This hunt is conducted using very talented hounds. Licenses are over the counter but there is a quota system. Any weapon is allowed. Mountain Lions hunts are physical by nature. 4×4’s and snowmobiles are utilized where they can but its not uncommon to go on foot for the final pursuit. If a trophy cat is on your list this Colorado mountain lion hunt should be considered.
