Alberta Spot and Stalk Whitetail Hunt

This was a new hunt for us in 2021 and our inspection hunt did not disappoint! This is not your typical whitetail hunt. This is a spot and stalk hunt on rolling ag land that is interspersed with draws and coulees. The draws and coulees are pretty steep and thick and offer great protection and bedding for the deer but this is not a physical hunt. There were an amazing number of whitetails on the property. In fact, it was not unusual to see 100 plus deer a day and to see 20 or so different bucks. We saw a lot of bucks that were in the 135” to 145” range and a few over 150″. There were numerous 2 ½ and 3 ½-year-old deer on the property and in 2022 with another year of growth, there are going to be some great bucks to hunt. This is a private land hunt (15,000 acres +/-) and is just across the US/Canada border. This region by provincial rule, only allows 4-day hunts, Wednesday through Saturday. Success is very high and if you can shoot to 400 yards this spot and stalk adventure can realistically offer you an opportunity at a 140-160 whitetail.
