The prairies and foothills of the Rocky Mountains in southern Alberta are renowned for the quality deer that call them home. These units are often referred to as the “Trophy Zones”. Southern Alberta has established a reputation for consistently offering hunters a shot at 170″-190″ bucks with a decent chance for the magical 200″ mark.
4 Tags Available for 2018!
Well it just so happens that we have 4 tags up for grabs for this fall. This hunt is good for rifle and archery alike. Success has been very high. In fact our outfitter is so confident he can put you in front of a 170″ or better buck that he will allow you to come back for a modest daily fee if he doesn’t deliver the first time around. These are over the counter tags, no draw involved. Last year on the rifle they were 11 for 12 with a repeat hunter holding out for a 200″. On average they take 2 each year at or over 200 so the potential is there.
Hunters will be met in Medicine Hat on arrival. Many fly to Great Falls, MT and rent a car to drive up. Lodging is provided in comfortable ranch houses with all meals provided. On average expect 10-30 minutes drive time to the hunting area, depending on the unit you are hunting. Hunts are conducted utilizing full size trucks to glass and then spot and stalk on foot. They do uses horses occasionally to get to certain areas.
By Provincial law the rifle hunts are 4 day hunts that run Wednesday through Saturday (Archery hunts are allowed all days except Sunday).
