2026 was another banner year for our clients in Texas. This kind of “off-season” hunting adventure has become one of our most popular and for good reason. Our outfitting partners in Texas have been getting it done. Period.
These are 100% free-range, fair chase hunts. Flexible season dates and inexpensive over-the-counter tags make this a perfect off-season adventure. Specialties are Aoudad and Axis Deer, with options for Blackbuck, Oryx, as well as limited Whitetail, Cow Elk, and some Antelope.
West Texas Aoudad…
Aoudad hunting in the mountains of West Texas is one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences the state has to offer. These hunts are entirely spot-and-stalk, requiring hiking and glassing to locate a mature ram. Aoudad are incredibly resilient and well-adapted to their rugged surroundings, making each encounter a well-earned achievement.
Hunters stay in comfortable ranch house lodging and enjoy home-cooked meals. With expert guides leading the way, the focus is on targeting trophy rams over 9 years old with 30”+ horns. Most shots range from 200 to 500 yards, depending on conditions, making this hunt a true test of skill and endurance in the rugged West Texas landscape.

Axis Deer in the Hill Country…
Axis deer have flourished in the Texas Hill Country, where limestone hills, juniper-filled valleys, and Live Oak groves create the perfect habitat. With their striking spotted coats, elk-like calls, and excellent table fare, these deer offer a unique year-round hunting opportunity. The best time to hunt is during the rut from mid-May through August, when mature bucks are in hard horn and highly vocal. These fully guided hunts are typically conducted 2×1, using spot-and-stalk, glassing, and calling rather than blinds—though blinds are available upon request. Shots generally range from 100-300 yards, and hunters should be prepared for rough terrain and summer temperatures.
