Draw results for Non-resident Elk tags are now out in the western states, with Colorado and Wyoming recently posting. If you are without a tag for this fall, here is an over-the-counter elk hunt for your consideration.

This family-run outfitter offers 7-day elk hunts in remote backcountry camps of the majestic Idaho wilderness. These are excellent dates and should allow you to hunt bugling bulls. Archery hunts are customized to the desire of each hunter and can be old school 24/7 in the bush and sleep in a spike camp, or for those hunters who prefer a warm bunkhouse and a shower, they can have that as well. Elk location will also dictate the appropriate camp setting. Idaho terrain is rugged, and this elk hunt is very physically demanding. Being in good shape will significantly increase your odds of success. Trophy elk are found here, and elk over 300 have presented shots to numerous clients. Those who put in the time pre-season definitely have more opportunities, again, this is steep country. If you are after an authentic elk hunt with a genuine owner/operator who is in the business because he is still completely in love with his job, then this one might be for you. Guide service is 2×1, and we prefer to book 2 hunters who know each other. 1×1 is available for an additional fee. Drive to the main lodge or fly to Missoula and rent a car, leaving a 2-hour drive.
