North Dakota Waterfowl has arrived.  The flyway has established this state as a proven playground for any serious waterfowler.  Many dream of coming to the prairie pothole region of North Dakota to hunt the thousands and thousands of ducks, geese and swans that migrate through the region each year.

The duck hunts offer numerous species of diver ducks and puddle ducks for fast action. In addition to some incredible North Dakota duck hunting, they also offer exceptional field goose hunting over large decoy spreads of either real geese silhouettes, or full body goose decoys. The main species that you will target in the fields will be Canada geese and Mallards, however there should be ample opportunities to harvest gadwalls, widgeon, and possibly pintails. Snow geese are also available. If you hit it just right you may even get that  chance at a speckle belly as well.

And do not overlook the Swan hunting.  This is fast becoming their most popular hunt. If a swan has been a dream hunt for you, they can make that happen, and over decoys none the less. These North Dakota swan hunts will take place over water in a loafing pond.  Tundra swan applications need to be applied for in late July and early August annually.

If you’ve never tried the spring snow goose hunt it’s definitely worth experiencing. These guys hunt Arkansas, South Dakota, and North Dakota!  While not everyone can enjoy the hundred bird day it does seem to happen at least once each year.  And even if you aren’t lucky enough to pile them up in big numbers, chances are you are going to see birds in numbers many people will never experience.  Also, they run a special hunt over 10,000 decoys for the serious light goose hunters.  That’s right, 10,000 decoys!
