Alaska Caribou Hunt 10772
$14,500
This Alaska Peninsula Caribou Hunt takes place in Game Management Unit 9D, home to the Southern Alaska Peninsula Herd. This remote, non migratory herd numbers approximately 3,000 animals and offers hunters the opportunity to pursue impressive Barren Ground Caribou in an area that has only recently opened to nonresident hunting. The hunt is conducted in an over the counter tag area with excellent trophy potential.
Hunts begin and end in either Cold Bay or Sand Point, Alaska. From there, hunters are flown to Canoe Bay Lodge or remote spike camps depending on herd location and conditions. Canoe Bay is a remote, full service lodge accessible only by boat or small aircraft, and this outfitter is the exclusive guide service operating in the region under a private concession permit. Portions of the hunt may also be conducted via boat access from the lodge.
These hunts typically run 5 to 7 days and include all guiding, meals, lodging, and transportation for hunters and trophies back to Cold Bay or Sand Point. Wolf hunting opportunities are common and available at no additional cost or tag requirement. Salmon fishing may also be added to the trip for an additional fee. Hunters are responsible for airfare, licenses, tags, personal gear, rifle or bow equipment, and sleeping bags.
