This ranch is a site to behold and superior management practices are in place to attract and hold the elk in great numbers. Success is very high and shot opportunity almost always 100%. This is a Hosted Hunts Exclusive and only 4 archery hunts are sold on this ranch each year. 3 of the 4 are booked with repeat hunters and we have just 1 spot available. With only 2 hunters on the ranch at a time it is always 1×1 guiding. The same two guides handle every hunt and they work on the ranch full time and know it intimately. This is an excellent hunting opportunity with 300 inch elk being very common and 320 plus caliber elk are typically on the ranch during the archery season. You will enjoy your own private cabin fully furnished with all the amenities. The upscale lodge and cabins were built in 2015. After each day’s hunt you will enjoy chef prepared meals in the spacious main lodge. The accommodations will not disappoint even the most discerning hunter.
With over 19,000 acres and located 30 minutes from Bozeman International Airport, the ranch is easy to get to but also off the beaten path accessed only by a county road that dead ends at the Gallatin National Forest. The private land adjoins the US National Forest, offering some of the finest big game hunting Montana has to offer. Approximately 800 elk winter on the ranch with MT FWP counts as high as 1,200. Elevation on the ranch is 5,300′ to 6,800′. This hunt is not physically demanding. The lodge location allows immediate access to the hunting grounds. The terrain consists of a variety of terrain with a lot of hilly prairie, some creek bottom, and small mountains with plenty of pine and cover topping off at 6,800′. Equipment is all top notch and transportation is provided by Polaris Rangers and 4×4 pick up which are all new or like new.
The ranch boasts more than a thousand acres of strategic grasslands producing winter wheat for both production and wildlife feed. In addition several hundred acres of irrigated hay ground and over 40 developed springs make this ranch a mecca for area wildlife. Food plots are maintained to nourish the huge population of upland game birds, elk and deer. In the spring about 300 cow elk typically give birth, then they spend the summer in the high country, allowing the ranch forage to regenerate. By mid August 300-400 elk move back onto the ranch to start feeding on the lush fields and begin the breeding rituals the outfitter likes to refer to as the “Mayhem”. This is truly something to behold. These dates were carefully selected to coincide with the first estrus cycle on the ranch and typically see the biggest bulls of the year showing themselves. If you are looking for a great opportunity to take a trophy bull with your bow and arrow this one should not be overlooked. Call us today!
