Jim set us up with an outstanding outfitter (James) and this is our third adventure with him. While I failed to close the deal, missing a cow elk with my bow, James put me and my son in position for shot opportunities on several occasions. My son had a young bull broadside within 20 yards, but he was not a legal bull. We had encounters with 42 elk (8 bulls and 34 cows) during the five-day hunt. We stayed in a base camp with wall tents, a wood-burning stove in each tent, and an outdoor shower facility. The camp cook, Kerry, was a wizard with meal prep on a wood-burning stove. James was diligent and energetic to get us into the backwoods. We hiked over 60 miles with him in 5 days. We saw not only a lot of elk, but mule deer, whitetails, small game, 2 wolves, and an unseen but nearby bear. Having hunted elk in New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, and Montana, this location is the most rugged, majestic, beautiful, and challenging of them all. An epic archery hunt. I’ve never had a Hosted Hunts adventure that failed to meet expectations. Jim even reached out to me and the outfitter throughout the week to check on us. Very grateful for Jim Duberowski and the diligence and service he provides. If you are looking for an archery elk hunt full of adventure and excitement, look no further. This is the real deal. Beautiful territory in southwest Montana, clean and comfortable camp, great food and fellowship, and above all, lots of game. I can’t wait to go back again.
