A devastating blow to Manitoba Outfitters.
Book now, prices are surely going to increase.
Bad News First…
A crushing blow was just delivered to Manitoba’s outfitters. Almost out of nowhere, they were notified via letter from Manitoba Wildlife that their moose tag allocation would be reduced by 50% starting next fall One of our outfitting partners learned that they would lose all of their moose tags!
This move appears to be politically driven, not science-based. Regardless, it’s not good for the future of Manitoba hunting for nonresidents. We saw this play out in Quebec and the result was a domino effect on caribou hunts everywhere in North America.
It seems that every year there is another assault on hunting through the elimination of tags, particularly for nonresidents. This is an alarming trend and a good reminder/reason to support any of the major wildlife and hunting conservation groups.
Now for the good news!….
We do have a few Manitoba Moose hunts left for this fall and you will want to book this year if at all possible as prices and availability are going to change drastically starting next year.
We have personally hunted with both of these operations. They offer quality moose hunting opportunities. In both cases, hunters need to get to Thompson, Manitoba where they will take a float plane (included in the price) into a remote camp. There are both lodge/cabin options as well as tent camps available. We can book a solo hunter or a group of two.
