We became so fond of this operation we just went ahead and bought all of the hunts to ensure that our clients would always have access to them. We have personally hunted and hosted clients numerous times and we have a high repeat rate with many clients. This is an excellent hunting opportunity with 300 inch elk being very common, and 320 inch plus class elk are even more prevalent during the archery season. We have always tried not to get caught up in overstating quality. There is already plenty of that in the industry. That being said, once in a while a place comes a long that is, well, special. This is that place. This is a world-class operation and the ranches themselves are something to behold. We only take 4 hunters per week on two exceptional Montana ranches, Willow Creek and Perfect Light. No expense is spared as superior management practices are in place to attract and hold the elk in great numbers year round.
Located less than one hour from Bozeman International Airport, the ranches are easy to get to but also off the beaten path accessed only by a county road that dead ends at the Gallatin National Forest. The lodging and chef prepared meals will exceed all expectations. Attention to detail is the name of the game and the staff are carefully picked to ensure every aspect of the hunt lives up to the high expectations set by both the ranch owner and the outfitter. The private land adjoins the US National Forest, offering some of the finest big game hunting Montana has to offer. Approximately 800 elk winter on the ranch with MT FWP counts as high as 1,200. Elevation on the ranch is 5,300′ to 6,800′. This hunt is not physically demanding. The terrain consists of a variety of terrain with a lot of hilly prairie, some creek bottom, and small mountains with plenty of pine and cover topping off at 6,800′. Equipment is all top notch and transportation is provided by Polaris Rangers, Electric Bikes, and 4×4 pick up which are all new or like new. The guide staff is professional, experienced, and committed to excellence. These guys know both ranches intimately and know how to put hunters in a position to succeed whether archery or rifle.
