While not yet official, government sources are saying that they expect the U.S./Canadian border closure to be extended until at least late July. Our office is just six miles from the Canadian border and we spend a lot of time on the wonderful fisheries of our neighbors to the north, so this hits on a personal level. We also know that thousands of would be Canada bound anglers are now looking for a Plan B. We are seeing high demand for US fishing destinations and here are a couple of good options in the States you may want to consider if you find yourself in that situation, or just like good fishing destinations in general.

Salmon Charters on Lake Michigan!
This is one of the longest running fishing charters on the lake. They have a great reputation and provide some of the best salmon fishing to be found on beautiful Lake Michigan. They run 7 days a week with well trained, fully licensed captains who are always in tune with what the fish are doing and what is working to put them in the boat. Lake Michigan is huge and they have the perfect fleet of boats to handle this great body of water. All of their well appointed boats go through annual coast guard inspection. They all have enclosed salons, large bathrooms, and ample room in the back. All boats are rigged with GPS, Radar, Sonar, Autopilot, and of custom rods and reels. No need to bring your own gear. Their lodges include fully furnished kitchens, barbecue grills, flat screen TV’s, free WiFi and are conveniently located right off shore. This is a place where clients return year after year. So if you are looking for a new fishing adventure and want to fill the freezer with some choice fillets, look no further.
Several package options are available. Our most popular packages are 2 day charters that include lake side lodging and all fishing licenses and stamps along with proper care of your caught fish. Meals are not included but in addition to your kitchen and grill, there are also several local dining options available . Packages start at $279 per person. We do have a 4 person minimum.
