Alaska Barren Ground Caribou Hunt 10483
Alaska Barren Ground Caribou Hunt – Hunt the eastern end of Alaska’s fabled Brooks Range. Some of these hunts are in America’s northernmost wildlife refuge. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge was originally set aside, in part, because of the abundance of caribou in the area. These caribou hunts are conducted just west of the ANWR from the foot hills of the mountains to the coastal flats depending on where they are at the time. This outfitter has the luxury of having 3 different herds present at any given time providing an abundance of caribou hunting opportunities. Over the past 15 or so years we have enjoyed many, many years of 100% success. Most bulls average around 360 SCI with a few every year that break 400 SCI. One benefit we have is that you are not hunting the migration and waiting for them to come by. They are still in their summer range and just milling around feeding. You could see anywhere from a few at a time to upwards of 2000 – 3000 animals. If you’re looking for a great no pressure hunt with an extremely high success rate this is the hunt for you. Your point of arrival is Deadhorse from there they will transport you to a well equipped base camp. From there we will fly you out to a comfortable remote camp where there are good numbers of caribou. These are 2 X 1 hunts, with easy hikes in the hills scanning for caribou across the seemingly endless vistas of this beautiful and wild land. Ask us about a grizzly add on.
