We have had a very exciting spring hunting season. One of our go-to Manitoba bear outfitters continues to deliver. These guys continue to uphold their reputation for putting hunters in a position to shoot big bears. Our clients upheld their end of the deal and took home some great bears this year.
In addition to this old standby we have also added two new spring bear hunts. In the past two weeks, we were busy on inspection hunts. These inspection hunts are a critical piece of our work, as it gives us a first hand objective experience with our destinations. This investment allows us to give our clients unfiltered and honest feedback about what they can expect on a given hunt. We only represent destinations that meet our high standards on the inspection. Our most recent inspections brought us to southern Manitoba and to New Brunswick respectively. Both hunts proved to be real winners with good operators and good hunting. We are excited to offer them to our clients for the 2018 season.
Our newest Manitoba hunt offers high success hunting at a great price. At just $2,000, with the license/tag included, you are sitting on well established stand/bait sites. This year they were 13/14 harvested and on the inspection hunt, our very own Brett Mattson took home a great boar on his 2nd night of hunting. The bruin tipped the scales at 315 pounds, that’s a heavy spring bear. So not only do they offer success, but some good bears are there as well.
Meanwhile the Duberowski brothers were out east in New Brunswick and they too enjoyed a successful hunt. What sets this New Brunswick hunt apart is the not only the option to harvest two bears but also this operation includes ocean-side lodging, gourmet meals that include fresh Maine Lobster, and it is a terrific family run operation. You hosts here are simply top notch people, and that is what we look for first and foremost.
We are booking now for 2018 hunts and the peak dates will go quickly….

Head to Manitoba in May or June when little else can be hunted. Comfortable weather with active bears combined with very high success rates make this a truly enjoyable experience. Bear numbers are very high and opportunity is typically 100% Trophy size is very real and if you are patient you stand a real good chance of scoring a 7 foot square bruin with a skull of 20 inches or better. The trick is to pass the numerous smaller bears that you will likely encounter. It is not unusual to see 5 or more bears on a given sit. The west camp is very good for color phase bears with 30% plus showing the variation with chocolate and blonde being most common. Comfortable cabin or motel lodging is provided along with home cooked meals in the west camp and order of the menu in the east camp. Some great fishing can be enjoyed in the east camp and in the west you can take advantage of some great golf courses to start your mornings.
